My Solomon's Journey

“The report that I heard in my own land about your achievements  and about your wisdom was true. But I did not put faith in the reports until I had come and had seen it with my own eyes. And look! I had not been told the half. You have far surpassed in wisdom and prosperity the report that I heard. Happy are your men, and happy are your servants who stand before you constantly, listening to your wisdom! May Jehovah your God be praised, who has taken pleasure in you by putting you on the throne of Israel. Because of Jehovah’s everlasting love for Israel, he appointed you as king to administer justice and righteousness.” - 1 King 10:6-9

Admiration for the Power of the Word

When I was about 12 years old, I overheard my older cousin discussing the art of speaking with his friends. They spoke of how people rose to power through their ability to speak and convince others to follow them. Their words fascinated me. I already knew, through the history and legends of my country, how figures like Lenin and Stalin had mobilized millions with their rhetoric, leading revolutions and taking power across nations. Their use of words, combined with physical force and weapons, reshaped history.

When I was 10, I read about Alexander the Great, who, despite his youth, led the Greeks to dominate the ancient world. As a little boy, I admired such figures—leaders who used ideas to inspire justice and bring benefits to hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people. Our communist propaganda often highlighted stories of young boys and girls who sacrificed their lives to liberate others from oppressive regimes like Tsarist Russia or Nazi Germany. We were taught that we were building a brighter future, a paradise on earth, through socialism and communism—principles that promised prosperity, justice, and equality for all.

What struck me most was the realization that behind these great movements were words—articulated ideas with the power to inspire and drive nations. That conversation with my cousin made me aware that some individuals became the voices of these ideas. They not only formulated concepts but also led through personal example, embodying the principles they preached.

At the time, I knew nothing of Jesus Christ, who, without military force or weapons, articulated ideas that have inspired billions for nearly 2,000 years. That knowledge had not yet been revealed to me. Still, I was intrigued by the power of reasoning through words. It left a mark on me, though I didn’t know where to find more information or how to explore it further.

At that age, I was just a boy, more preoccupied with play than with pondering profound ideas. Activities like soccer, hockey, skiing, and bicycle riding consumed my days. Entertainment and outdoor adventures held far greater appeal than reading or meditating on the power of words. Little did I know that seeds of curiosity had been planted, waiting to grow when the time was right.

The Journey to Wisdom: Inspired by Solomon's Example

After stepping out of my teenage years and midway through my higher education, the desire to seek true wisdom lingered, though often overshadowed by other pursuits. My studies revolved around engineering, particularly working with systems surrounding a nuclear reactor—processes such as regenerating oxygen from water and removing carbon monoxide. While these subjects were intellectually rigorous, they did little to ignite my deeper yearning for understanding.

As I mentioned in The Change chapter, I initially dismissed the Bible as a source of wisdom. Material ambitions clouded my perspective, and witnessing the collapse of communistic ideals that once seemed so promising further dampened my outlook. These disillusionments left me questioning the foundation of what I had been taught to value.

However, I always admired my mother’s gift for reasoning and her ability to communicate effectively. She skillfully introduced me to the wisdom of Solomon, rekindling the curiosity sparked during my teenage years by conversations about the power of words and leadership. She also shared a book published by Jehovah’s Witnesses designed to enhance public speaking skills. Craftily, she planted a seed in my mind by highlighting the account of Solomon’s prayer: Solomon did not ask for wealth or glory, but for wisdom. Jehovah was pleased with his request and granted him not only wisdom but also riches and honor.

The narrative in 1 Kings 3:5-14 resonated deeply with me: "In Gibeon Jehovah appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said: ‘Ask what you would like me to give you.’ Solomon replied, ‘Grant your servant an obedient heart to judge your people, to discern between good and bad, for who is able to judge this numerous people of yours?’ It was pleasing to Jehovah that Solomon had requested this. God said to him, ‘Because you requested this and did not ask for long life, riches, or the death of your enemies, but for understanding to hear judicial cases, I will do what you asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart so that just as there has never been anyone like you before, there will never be anyone like you again. Furthermore, what you have not requested I will give you—both riches and glory.’”

Solomon quickly became a figure of immense influence for me. Beyond his extraordinary wealth, he ruled with unmatched diplomacy, unifying his nation for 40 years. His proverbs and wise sayings remain timeless, offering practical guidance even today. Unsurprisingly, the first biblical book I read was Ecclesiastes, followed closely by Proverbs.

In addition to exploring these biblical texts, I studied the Theocratic Ministry School guidebook, published by Jehovah’s Witnesses, reading it cover to cover well before becoming a Witness myself. When I prayed to Jehovah for the first time and realized the need to become His servant, it felt logical not only to learn what Jehovah’s Witnesses taught but also how they communicated those teachings effectively. Preparing myself for the message I would eventually preach—and how I would deliver it—felt like a natural and necessary step in aligning my life with Jehovah’s purpose.

Reflect On My Prayers to Obtain Wisdom

The story of Solomon deeply influenced me and inspired a desire to obtain wisdom—not for riches or power, but for something enduring and meaningful. However, I also hoped for long life, especially after developing faith in Jehovah’s original purpose for humanity: life everlasting. My prayers shifted toward asking for wisdom with the hope of living a long, purposeful life, rather than being confined to the short cycle that all physical bodies experience.

Once you realize that everlasting life is a possibility, you’re never the same person again. You no longer leave things to chance or blame predestiny—you want to work it out with your Creator, as He invites: “Come, now, and let us set matters straight between us,” says Jehovah. (Isaiah 1:18)

Realizing that Jehovah is the source of true wisdom, expressed through His inspired Word preserved in the Bible, I began my journey with a focus on understanding the meaning behind words and biblical terminology.

The Struggle for Truth Amid Doctrinal Obstacles

As I observe now, many people, regardless of their Christian denomination, undertake similar research. Yet, doctrines often hold them captive, preventing full understanding. People frequently hear and see only what aligns with their own beliefs, as their mental disposition affects their perception. Consider these statements:

“But a physical man does not accept the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually.” (1 Corinthians 2:14)

“For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories. (2 Timothy 4:3, 4)

So, what is the secret? How can one truly penetrate Jehovah’s thoughts and understand His inspired Word as He intended?

Jehovah Grants Access to His Wisdom

“No one has come to know the things of God except the spirit of God. Now we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit that is from God, so that we might know the things that have been kindly given us by God.” (1 Corinthians 2:11, 12) This scripture highlights an essential truth: no one can penetrate Jehovah’s mind unless He kindly grants access. Jehovah extends this access through His holy spirit and His chosen Son, Jesus Christ. Those who receive that spirit in turn become His servants, capable of helping others—provided that Jehovah grants His spirit to those who humbly seek Him.

Many people attempt to bypass this process, seeking wisdom without calling upon Jehovah’s name. While they may gain fragments of truth, they miss the full picture. Jesus clearly stated: “Most truly I say to you, the one who does not enter into the sheepfold through the door but climbs in by another way, that one is a thief and a plunderer.” (John 10:1) Jesus identified himself as the only door: “I am the door for the sheep.” (John 10:7)

This truth is widely recognized by Bible readers. However, another crucial truth is often dismissed: “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13) “Whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their hearts. But when one turns to Jehovah, the veil is taken away.” (2 Corinthians 3:15, 16)

The Veil of Manipulation and the Need for Humility

A significant obstacle to understanding has been the removal of Jehovah’s name from many Bibles, replaced with generic terms like “Lord” and “God.” This deliberate manipulation clouds the logic of calling upon Jehovah’s name while promoting doctrines such as the Trinity. These distortions subvert Jehovah’s rightful position and prevent sincere individuals from seeking Him directly.

Jesus never claimed to be Jehovah. Instead, he made statements like: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) “If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28)

A humble individual draws the proper conclusion: Jehovah is the One to ask for wisdom, and Jesus is the means Jehovah uses to reveal it. Those who adopt the mind of Christ can then assist sincere individuals who call upon Jehovah’s name for wisdom.

This journey mirrors my own experience and has become a testament to the solid relationship one can build with Jehovah. For those who do not see it, I cannot make them understand; only Jehovah can grant such understanding.

Humility Reveals Wisdom

Even those familiar with the "word of wisdom" may struggle to grasp my reasoning unless they humbly pray to Jehovah. For such ones, the sacred secret remains concealed. However, humility allows Jehovah to reveal His wisdom, as Jesus stated: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.” (Luke 10:21)

I was once a gentile unfamiliar with the word of wisdom, yet Jehovah granted me understanding because I approached Him humbly. This aligns with Paul’s words: “God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world to put the strong things to shame... so that no one might boast in the sight of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)

Closing Reflection: A Call to Humble Prayer

To fully understand Jehovah’s wisdom, one must approach Him with humility and call upon His name. Jesus is the way to Jehovah, and those born of the spirit can assist in this journey. As Peter described: “For you have been given a new birth, not by corruptible seed, but by incorruptible seed, through the word of the living and enduring God.” (1 Peter 1:23)

Finally, I encourage you to reflect on 1 Corinthians Chapter 2, which beautifully summarizes the role of humility, spirit, and wisdom in understanding Jehovah’s mind. “For ‘who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, so that he may instruct him?’ But we do have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16)

To finalize and wrap everything discussed above, I encourage you to playfully and thoughtfully read 1 Corinthians, Chapter 2 in its entirety. This chapter perfectly encapsulates the essence of what we’ve explored. Allow me to highlight certain verses that connect deeply with our discussion, encouraging you to pause and reflect as you make these connections:

"So when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with extravagant speech or wisdom declaring the sacred secret of God to you. For I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and him executed on the stake. And I came to you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling; and my speech and what I preached were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might be, not in men’s wisdom, but in God’s power.

"Now we speak wisdom among those who are mature, but not the wisdom of this system of things nor that of the rulers of this system of things, who are to come to nothing. But we speak God’s wisdom in a sacred secret, the hidden wisdom, which God foreordained before the systems of things for our glory. It is this wisdom that none of the rulers of this system of things came to know, for if they had known it, they would not have executed the glorious Lord.

"But just as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, nor have there been conceived in the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love him.’ For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So, too, no one has come to know the things of God except the spirit of God.

"Now we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit that is from God, so that we might know the things that have been kindly given us by God. These things we also speak, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by the spirit, as we explain spiritual matters with spiritual words. But a physical man does not accept the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually. However, the spiritual man examines all things, but he himself is not examined by any man. For ‘who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, so that he may instruct him?’ But we do have the mind of Christ."

This chapter reveals the sacred wisdom Jehovah has kindly provided through His spirit. It is a call to move beyond mere human reasoning and immerse ourselves in spiritual understanding. As Paul emphasizes, it is not through human intellect or eloquence that one comes to grasp Jehovah's wisdom but through a humble reliance on His spirit. Let these words inspire and motivate you, dear reader, to seek Jehovah’s wisdom with sincerity, allowing His spirit to guide and illuminate your understanding.

The Eager Expectation of Creation and the Unifying Role of the Sons of God

It’s time to return to the main theme of this book: “For the creation is waiting with eager expectation for the revealing of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:19) This verse points to a profound truth: while all wisdom is hidden and revealed in Jesus Christ, the entire creation longs for the unveiling of multiple sons of God. What makes these sons of God so significant? It is their pursuit of peace, unity, and their ability to draw more humble individuals into their midst, creating a collective harmony that reflects Jehovah's purpose.

Jesus himself beautifully expressed this vision of unity in his final prayer before his arrest. His words in John 17 underscore the vital connection between Jehovah, Jesus, and the sons of God, as well as their shared mission to bring others into union with them.

Jesus spoke these things, and raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son so that your son may glorify you, just as you have given him authority over all flesh, so that he may give everlasting life to all those whom you have given to him. This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work you have given me to do. So now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.

“I have made your name manifest to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word. Now they have come to know that all the things you gave me are from you, because I have given them the sayings that you gave me, and they have accepted them and have certainly come to know that I came as your representative, and they have believed that you sent me. I make request concerning them; I make request, not concerning the world, but concerning those whom you have given me, because they are yours; and all my things are yours and yours are mine, and I have been glorified among them.

“I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name, which you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I used to watch over them on account of your own name, which you have given me; and I have protected them, and not one of them is destroyed except the son of destruction, so that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves. I have given your word to them, but the world has hated them, because they are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.

“I do not request that you take them out of the world, but that you watch over them because of the wicked one. They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world. Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I also sent them into the world. And I am sanctifying myself in their behalf, so that they also may be sanctified by means of truth.

“I make request, not concerning these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word, so that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one. I in union with them and you in union with me, in order that they may be perfected into one, so that the world may know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me. Father, I want those whom you have given me to be with me where I am, in order that they may look upon my glory that you have given me, because you loved me before the founding of the world.

Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you, but I know you, and these have come to know that you sent me. I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.

Let’s reflect on some key elements of that prayer:

  1. The Glorification of Jehovah and Jesus:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son so that your son may glorify you… I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work you have given me to do.” (John 17:1, 4)

Jesus’ life was a testimony to the glory of Jehovah, and his role as Jehovah’s representative was to reflect this glory to others. The sons of God, as revealed in time, will continue this work, glorifying Jehovah and reflecting His love, wisdom, and purpose to humanity.

  2. The Manifestation of Jehovah’s Name:
“I have made your name manifest to the men whom you gave me out of the world.” (John 17:6)

Jesus revealed Jehovah’s name and character to his followers, an essential part of their sanctification and unity. Those who become sons of God are similarly tasked with upholding and declaring Jehovah’s name, helping others come to know Him.

  3. Unity Among the Sons of God:
“Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name… so that they may be one just as we are one.” (John 17:11)
“I make request, not concerning these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word, so that they may all be one.” (John 17:20, 21)

The unity of the sons of God is not just symbolic; it is the foundation of their role as representatives of Jehovah and Jesus. Their oneness mirrors the perfect unity between the Father and the Son, demonstrating to the world that they are truly sent by God.

  4. The Purpose of Their Unity:
“I in union with them and you in union with me, in order that they may be perfected into one, so that the world may know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me.” (John 17:23)

This unity is not an end in itself; it is a means to reveal Jehovah’s love and purpose to the world. As the sons of God become united, their love and harmony serve as a testament to Jehovah’s sovereignty and the truth of His promises.

  5. The Ultimate Goal—Everlasting Union:
“Father, I want those whom you have given me to be with me where I am, in order that they may look upon my glory that you have given me.” (John 17:24)

This heartfelt request highlights the ultimate goal of the sons of God: to be in eternal union with Jehovah and Jesus, sharing in their glory and reflecting it for the benefit of all creation.

The Sons of God in Action

While Jesus revealed the glory of Jehovah to his disciples, he entrusted them to carry on this mission after his departure. These sons of God—both those already revealed and those yet to be—serve as the instruments through which Jehovah’s love and wisdom reach others. Their lives are not about exalting themselves but about guiding others toward reconciliation with Jehovah, in harmony with His purpose.

Their work is not limited to teaching; it also involves active participation in Jehovah’s plan for redemption. They serve as instruments of peace and unity, drawing others into Jehovah’s loving arrangement, just as Jesus prayed they would.

A Call to Reflect

As Jesus’ words remind us, these sons of God are not isolated individuals but representatives of a greater purpose—Jehovah’s purpose. They are tasked with fostering unity, reflecting Jehovah’s glory, and guiding others toward everlasting life. This raises a question for each of us:

Will you align yourself with this purpose?

Will you, too, strive for unity with Jehovah, Jesus, and the sons of God?

By doing so, you can contribute to the peace and reconciliation that all creation eagerly anticipates.

The Wheat and the Weeds: A Prophecy of Coexistence and Divine Separation

Apostle Paul was deeply disturbed when he learned about divisions within the Corinthian congregation. Such discord threatened the unity of the congregation and risked pushing Jesus out of their midst. Paul recognized that these divisions reflected what Jesus had foretold in his illustration about wheat and weeds—a prophecy that warned of a coexistence between genuine followers of Christ and those who merely appeared to be so.

“He presented another illustration to them, saying: ‘The Kingdom of the heavens may be likened to a man who sowed fine seed in his field. While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat and left. When the stalk sprouted and produced fruit, then the weeds also appeared. So the slaves of the master of the house came and said to him, “Master, did you not sow fine seed in your field? How, then, does it have weeds?” He said to them, “An enemy, a man, did this.” The slaves said to him, “Do you want us, then, to go out and collect them?” He said, “No, for fear that while collecting the weeds, you uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest season, I will tell the reapers: First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up; then gather the wheat into my storehouse.”’

Then, after dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples came to him and said:

“Explain to us the illustration of the weeds in the field.” In response he said: ‘The sower of the fine seed is the Son of man; the field is the world. As for the fine seed, these are the sons of the Kingdom, but the weeds are the sons of the wicked one, and the enemy who sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels. Therefore, just as the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be in the conclusion of the system of things. The Son of man will send his angels, and they will collect out from his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and people who practice lawlessness, and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. There is where their weeping and the gnashing of their teeth will be. At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Let the one who has ears listen.’” (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43)

As the true word was planted, it began to deliver results. True followers of Christ flourished even after their Master was taken away. However, immediately, the Devil started sowing the seeds of fake Christians. The Apostle Paul observed this in one congregation after another.

Paul to the Corinthians: "But what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to eliminate the pretext of those who are wanting a basis for being found equal to us in the things about which they boast. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps disguising himself as an angel of light. It is therefore nothing extraordinary if his ministers also keep disguising themselves as ministers of righteousness. But their end will be according to their works."

Paul urged vigilance: "Now I urge you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who create divisions and causes for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them. For men of that sort are slaves, not of our Lord Christ, but of their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattering speech they seduce the hearts of unsuspecting ones."

To the Galatians, he wrote: "I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from the One who called you with Christ’s undeserved kindness to another sort of good news. Not that there is another good news; but there are certain ones who are causing you trouble and wanting to distort the good news about the Christ."

To the Ephesians: "So we should no longer be children, tossed about as by waves and carried here and there by every wind of teaching by means of the trickery of men, by means of cunning in deceptive schemes."

To the elders of Ephesus, Paul warned: "Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own Son. I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves."

To the Colossians: "Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception according to human tradition, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ."

To the Philippians: "Look out for the dogs; look out for those who cause injury; look out for those who mutilate the flesh."

To the Thessalonians: "Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. He stands in opposition and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, publicly showing himself to be a god. Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is acting as a restraint, so that he will be revealed in his own due time. True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the one who is right now acting as a restraint is out of the way. Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence. But the lawless one’s presence is by the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and wonders and every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth in order that they might be saved. That is why God lets a deceptive influence mislead them so that they may come to believe the lie, in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness."

To Timothy: "Just as I encouraged you to stay in Ephesus when I was about to go to Macedonia, so I do now, in order for you to command certain ones not to teach different doctrine, nor to pay attention to false stories and to genealogies. Such things end up in nothing useful but merely give rise to speculations rather than providing anything from God in connection with faith."

To Titus: "For there are many rebellious men, profitless talkers, and deceivers, especially those who adhere to the circumcision. It is necessary to shut their mouths, because these very men keep on subverting entire households by teaching things they should not for the sake of dishonest gain."

The Apostle John similarly warned: "Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you know that the inspired statement is from God: Every inspired statement that acknowledges Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh originates with God. But every inspired statement that does not acknowledge Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired statement that you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world."

Peter offered a grave warning: "However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These will quietly bring in destructive sects, and they will even disown the owner who bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves."

Jude echoed these concerns: "Beloved ones, although I was making every effort to write you about the salvation we hold in common, I found it necessary to write you to urge you to put up a hard fight for the faith that was once for all time delivered to the holy ones. My reason is that certain men have slipped in among you who were long ago appointed to this judgment by the Scriptures; they are ungodly men who turn the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for brazen conduct and who prove false to our only owner and Lord, Jesus Christ."

Even the resurrected Jesus warned through his Revelation to John: To the congregation in Ephesus: "‘I know your deeds, and your labor and endurance, and that you cannot tolerate bad men, and that you put to the test those who say they are apostles, but they are not, and you found them to be liars. You are also showing endurance, and you have persevered for the sake of my name and have not grown weary.’"

To Pergamum: "‘Nevertheless, I have a few things against you, that you have there those adhering to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality.’"

To Thyatira: "‘Nevertheless, I do hold this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.’"

To Sardis: "‘I know your deeds, that you have the name that you are alive, but you are dead.’"

To Laodicea: "‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or else hot. So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.’"

The warnings were clear: the flourishing of the true word and the opposition it faced from false teachings and teachers were inevitable. But the faithful were called to persevere, distinguish truth from falsehood, and remain vigilant against the forces that sought to distort the teachings of Christ.

The Flourishing of Weeds and the Assurance of Discernment

Jesus warned, and his faithful apostles confirmed, that the "faking sons of God," who are, in reality, sons of the wicked one, would flourish until the time Jehovah allows for the challenging cherub to make his case. However, this period would not last indefinitely.

Today, we live in an era when both the wheat and the weeds have matured to the point where their distinction is becoming increasingly clear. This fulfills Jehovah's prophetic words through Malachi: “And you will again see the distinction between a righteous person and a wicked person, between one serving God and one not serving him.” (Malachi 3:18)

If you are one of those sincere individuals praying to Jehovah to discern this distinction, take heart—Jehovah will have no difficulty showing you the difference. His light shines brightest for those who humbly and earnestly seek it.

This promise also applies to those who are part of Christian denominations clouded by doctrines planted by the Devil. Just as a veil blinded the minds of those reading the Old Testament, a similar veil covers the minds of many who read the New Testament today. While they may accept Jesus Christ, they often ignore Jehovah or diminish His role by equating Jesus with Jehovah. Yet Jehovah lifts this veil when people begin to call upon His name.

Consider these words: “For to this present day, the same veil remains unlifted when the old covenant is read, because it is taken away only by means of Christ. In fact, to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their hearts. But when one turns to Jehovah, the veil is taken away.” (2 Corinthians 3:14-16)

The moment someone sincerely calls upon Jehovah’s name, the veil begins to lift. Jesus emphasized the power of unity and genuine worship when he said: “Truly I say to you, whatever things you may bind on earth will be things already bound in heaven, and whatever things you may loosen on earth will be things already loosened in heaven. Again I tell you truly, if two of you on earth agree concerning anything of importance that they should request, it will take place for them on account of my Father in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.” (Matthew 18:18-20)

Let this assurance strengthen your faith. Pray for discernment, unity, and the presence of Christ in your life. Where sincere hearts call on Jehovah’s name, His spirit works to illuminate the truth and expose deception.
